Team Leadership
Though I spend most of my time in the tech sector, I recently had the privilege of returning for my fourth year of facilitating an offsite in Monterey for a team of pediatricians. I continually find that regardless of a client’s sector, when advising leadership teams on culture, leadership and change management, I reference and weave consistent principles from books that I’ve read throughout our sessions. Whether it’s culture and values, leadership, people management, or change management and healthy communication practices, these topics are consistent from industry to industry.
After this year’s offsite, I provided a recap of the books I referenced that supported our brainstorming sessions on these topics. I find if teams have the books to reference, they can continue to take action on their top challenges to make the most impact. You won’t have any trouble finding leadership books. However, I thought I’d share a few that I always return to that might be helpful to you as well.
Here’s my list:
The Advantage by Patrick Lencioni
The Culture Code by Daniel Coyle
Fearless Organization by Amy Edmondson
Good Power by Ginni Rometty
The Making of a Manager by Julie Zhuo
Mindset by Carol Dweck
Multipliers by Liz Wiseman
Radical Candor by Kim Scott
Curious, are there any others? Which ones did I miss?
